Full description

Manhattan brings to mind grand skyscrapers, taxi cabs, and a world-class attitude all of its own. See all this and more as an expert pilot flies you over NYC on a 15 or 20-minute helicopter tour. Soar over the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, Madison Square Garden, among other landmarks. After take-off from the Downtown Heliport, swing down over lower Manhattan to see the skyline and streets below. Swoop over Battery Park to glance at Wall Street and its labyrinth of streets.

Then sail over to Governor's Island, an island once reserved only for the city's dignitaries that now hosts summer concerts and public art. Then, fly over Ellis Island and see Lady Liberty shining brightly in the distance. Cruise right up to her eye for a new perspective of the Statue of Liberty.

Enjoy all this before heading up the Hudson past the piers of Chelsea and the lights of Broadway. On your way back to the pier, head around the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, and fly over Ground Zero where you can have a look at the exceptional work they're doing at the sight.

Continue past Madison Square Garden and the Intrepid Air and Space Museum. See Central Park as your flight turns around to return to the heliport.

Our ride on the helicopter was simply awesome. The security and safe protocols are very strict as it should be for something like that. The view of city and the Hudson was spectacular. I had the opportunity to ride in front and for me as an amateur photographer was perfect. If you have the chance do it there is no other way to photograph the Statue of Liberty and the city buildings from thus angles. Is not my first time on a helicopter ride.

It was well worth the money, I booked this activity as a surprise birthday gift and it was much appreciated. It made the trip quite unforgettable and while seeing so many things from the bird perspective crosses off quite a few things such as taking a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty or going on a rooftop of say Freedom Tower. The audio quire wasn’t the language I had booked it in but thankfully we both understood English so it wasn’t too bad. Music which was played suited the ambiente and to finish the tour with Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys was fantastically fitting. We arrived earlier than our scheduled time and they even managed to take us on an earlier flight. It’s a great activity I can only recommend doing it, it’s not an everyday thing to do so - give it a try. :)

Good experience

You can reach the Downtown Manhattan Heliport located at pier 6 about 30 'in advance, where after a passport and ticket check, a video in English of just a few minutes is shown regarding the security measures. At the set time you reach and board the helicopter. After take-off, one flies over Governors Island and the Statue of Liberty with excellent visibility for all 5 occupants on board as the pilot performs slow maneuvers, then the fortune to stay alongside the pilot or in the two pilot view seats that allow a better visibility over Manhattan until reaching the beginning of Central Park where the helicopter turns and returns to the base along the Hudson River. Next personal experience will be with helicopter without doors. Excellent experience.
