The around trip pick up was easy, driver was quick and polite. Check-in for the swamp trip was a breeze and there was less then a ten minute wait for the tour to begin. We had Captain Jamie who made the tour most enjoyable with his knowledge and jokes about the swamp. He answered questions and allowed us to photograph the alligators and we also held a tiny one.
This excursion was one of our best memories of our trip to NOLA. The boat was comfortable with lots of room for everyone to spread out. The lunch was tasty and plentiful and the tour guide was so knowledgeable about NOLA and the events that took us to the war of 1815 that you could vividly picture the battle. A must-see for everyone.
Well, I enjoyed the experience, however my people were 3/5 of a human when much of Louisiana was established, and I didn’t get a vote, on whether to forgive all crimes, past, present, & future, for Confederate President Jackson, So I didn’t appreciate the statue, or the memorial park, dedicated to him in the French quarter!!!
This tour was so much fun! I recommend booking around noon or so because the first tour of the morning provides guides with a better idea of where the wildlife is. I had Bret as my guide and he was very entertaining and knowledgeable. He was really good about stopping long enough to get photos as well.
We rode about 35 minutes to and from the Chalmette battlegrounds. Our narrator, Charles was wonderful ! He was funny and very easy to listen to. Lots of valuable historical information and a very emotional and factual account of hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. Great time.
