What to Expect
Your tour begins at your hotel at 09:30, where you will picked up before heading off to explore both the new and old sides of Delhi.
New Delhi was designed and built by the British colonial government in the 1920s as part of a plan to move the capital from Calcutta. It's a city of wide boulevards, impressive government buildings, and lush green parks and gardens. After a drive along its bustling streets, visit 2 of the area's historic monuments.
The first will be Humayun's Tomb, built in the 16th century for the Mughal emperor Humayun, and declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993. The area outside the tomb features beautiful Persian-style gardens.
Next visit the Qutab Minar, India's tallest minaret which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. From here, your drive takes you along the Ceremonial Avenue and the Rajpath.
After a break for lunch, you will explore more of Old Delhi with a visit to the Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Mughal Empire. Then head to the Rajghat, the memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi, before seeing the Jama Masjid; the largest mosque in India.
At 17:30, you will be dropped off back at your hotel.
