Private Taxi Tour durch Berlin Ost und West und Kiez ca 3-4h

4. Private Taxi Tour durch Berlin Ost und West und Kiez ca 3-4h

On day ouf our tour I will pick you up from your accommodation or hotel. Within the Berlin S-Bahn-Ring (city circle ring) without extra costs, pick-up from the airport is also possible, but then you may choose better our Welcome Tour (or Farewell Tour, if you want to depart). You don't need to wait outside, please wait for most comfort until I send you a text message on your mobile. After a brief overview about our tour let us start. Enyoy the ride in a luxurios SUV car, with leather seats, AC and all comfort. You sit on a higher position, especially in the fond for a better sight. From outside you are not visible. Your tour is individual, but I have of course a round trip prepared with the most spectaculous and interesting sites of Berlin. This is important, if not not, you won't get the story of Berlin, with its progress from the time of the prussian kings and later emperors, and the deep fall with the nazitime and second world war. Berlin get destroyed up to 80 percent in the center, but a lot was reconstructed in the past. And then the dividing of the city in 4 sectors, forming later East and West Berlin. With a partly differenct, partly similar developpement in both parts. But grounded in two different and completely opponent systems, capitalism and communism. And then the wonder of the reunification after a peaceful revolution in 1989. Since then an increasing city, towards its former border section, a death zone, and implementing there the new parliament and government center. And growing in numbers and attractivities, with its very lively and young culture, from high established opera art to the party scene. And you will get in touch of all of this, not only from your convenient seats, but also on short walks to some main sites or interesting places. Let's start for example at Potsdamer Platz. This was part of the death stripe between East and West. Why death zone? Here was literally nothing left from the time pre-war. The ruins after the destroying were erased on both sides, and here the stripe between the front, west wall and the second, back wall was 80m wide. In the nineties is was developped and reconstructed with modern building, the socalled Sony Center and the Mercedes-Benz Quarter. Now we find here new hotels and entertainment, offices and residential flats. We start from here to the North, passing the former ministrial gardens, towards Brandenburg Gate. And before passing this first time, we will see the 2711 steles of the holocaust memorial of the 6 mio murdered jews of Europe. Also Brandenburg Gate was part of the wall, with no check point, like at Potdamer Platz. But it was already a gate of the ancient city in the baroque time. This is the reason that the old city was totally part of East Berlin, because the city spread out to all the sides and especially to the West 150 years ago. So I usually try to show you first the highlights of the west, with more riding inbetween, and later the historical sites, situated in the East.

The special thing about this “Extended & Relaxed" tour is that we take it easy. We have time for more (photo) stops, but also for a break with café, or a beer. Or we have a real lunch break in a very cosy restaurant in an original old building. Inside looking like an old pub, serving German meals like Schnitzel (but also pizza or salad, if your prefer). It's your choice! Relax and explore German kitchen culture. Or a shorter break with a Berliner Currywurst (Bratwurst in curry sauce). Let's start for example at Potsdamer Platz. This was part of the death stripe between East and West. Why death zone? This was our first trip to Berlin. The map made it so easy to get around the city and into attractions. The first time we used it was on the Hop On Hop Off bus where the driver did not accept the card. However, we were waiting for the next bus, and this driver knew very well what it was. After that, everything went smoothly! Can be highly recommended.

Thanks for everything Gunter! It was very nice to meet you! I loved the tour, my grandma also loved it and learned a lot, and that was what she was looking for.!! Thank you so much, it was way better that we expected. You know a lot!!

Ideal, can actually be used anywhere without waiting time. Public transport also perfectly arranged in Berlin and with this card. Can get in anywhere without worrying about anything.

A Great Show of the best German Artist 1900 untill 1945, like Kirchner, Dix, George. Very Good. Best

Very exciting, very worth knowing, very successful!
