What to Expect
Day 1: Arrive in Colombo

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport Colombo. A representative will meet you at the airport. Transfer to Pinnawala Kandy and check-in to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2:  Pinnawala Elephant

Visiting the elephants at Pinnawala is one of the highlights of a Sri Lankan holiday. Seeing these magnificent animals up close is just amazing. The orphanage is quite a large site and while there, you can see lots of elephants. See the babies being fed with bottles of milk. Follow the the elephants being taken down to the river a short walk away and spend about 2 to 3-hours watching them play in the water.

Day 3:  Kandy – Peradeniya

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is located inside the Royal Palace of Kandy on the shore of the lake and is justifiably the largest tourist draw in Kandy. Peradeniya, the botanic gardens, grows over 4,000 species of plants and is about 5.5 kilometers west of Kandy. It attracts over 2 million visitors per year. Newcomers to tropical botany will love this experience, and the large collection of orchids is particularly spectacular.  You will also find medicinal plants and spices.

Day 4: Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya, also known as Little England, was the favorite hill station of the British who tried to create this resort into a typical English village with an old brick post office and country houses like Hill Club with its hunting pictures, 18 hole golf course, and race course. On the way to Nuwara Eliya, you can see Devon Falls, St. Clair's Falls, beautiful mountains, and tea plantations.

Day 5:  Nuwara Eliya, Ella to Yala

Travel from Nuwara Eliya to Yala National Park stopping en route at Ella to see spectacular views over valleys and waterfalls. Dinner and overnight at Tissa.

Day 6: Yala National Park safari

Enjoy an early morning game drive around Yala National Park. The country's largest nature reserve is home to elephants, buffaloes, deer, wild boar, crocodiles, and large flocks of birds. It's also renowned as one of the best places in the world to spot the elusive leopard.

Day 7: Galle, Unawatuna

The thing to see in Galle is Galle Fort, a Unesco World Heritage Site built in the 17th century by the Portuguese and then later taken over by the Dutch. It is a massive, hulking fortress of epic proportions given the time in which it was built. The fortress is so strong that when the 2004 tsunami struck, it emerged relatively unscathed. Spend an hour or so here, taking in the breathtaking water views and strolling around the ramparts. Unawatuna is one of the largest tourist destinations in Sri Lanka and is the most famous beach in the country. The beach is popular with tourists, and part of the beach is occupied with sun beds and families come to the beach to enjoy some swimming in the sun.

Day 8: Airport Colombo departure

After breakfast at your hotel, depart for the airport with a stop to visit Colombo. Enjoy a tour of the city’s top sites, and spend some time shopping before heading to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departing flight.
