We did the tour without a guide. But our bus driver was a dream. Collecting at the meeting point went well. Three times were estimated for the return journey, so that it worked for the very quick ones and the rest. I liked how they checked who was still missing. The driver waited, most of them were then collected and the driver of the last tour, the rag picker, then knew everyone by name. Very careful. I thought it was good.

A little expensive because it's an activity to do in New Zealand and known to everyone. On the other hand, excellent transport, smiling people, punctual shuttles, nothing to say about the service!

Great experience that you should definitely do if you are fit enough. Often challenging, as nature naturally takes its toll on the path and you have to walk over a lot of stones and boulders.

Really fab views of volcanic landscapes. But be prepared for some exertion!

Spectacular route. Good transportation service to the route.
