Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mt. Vesuvius Private Tour

Excellent day, if there are 6-8 people in your party I would highly recommend this tour as cost is approx £900. The driver was waiting for us 30mins early in a lovely Mercedes minibus, travelled to Pompeii where we met our guide, he was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and spoke great English. Pompeii is huge and we spent about 3hrs there where he showed and explained soo much about it and I suspect would be lost in a large group. On to Herculaneum for a similar experience then up to Vesuvius to be dropped off close to the entrance, spent approx 90mins walking up/down with the driver pulling into the carpark as we came down. As mentioned above it is an expensive day and you could join other trips of 20-30 people in a group but the personal touch this trip gave was worth the extra £30-£40 it probably cost us each.

Die Tour war wirklich sehr schön und interessant. Wir hätten alleine niemals so viel von Pompeij gesehen und Herculaneum vermutlich gar nicht gemacht. Die Guides waren alle sehr nett und um uns bemüht. Was aber wirklich zu bemängeln ist - es ist KEINE Pause in irgendeiner Form eingeplant. Keine 5min für einen Kaffee, Essen nicht möglich auch nicht zwischendurch (vor Ort keine Zeit, im Bus nicht möglich). Nach Herculaneum waren wir nach insgesamt 3h Marsch um ca 14h etwas fertig und hungrig, mussten aber unbedingt weiter um das reservierte Zeitfenster am Vesuv einzuhalten. Haben dann dort an der Bar endlich gegessen nach langem Hin und Her wo das zeitmäßig möglich ist. Bei der Fahrt hinauf gibt es mehrere nette Lokale mit Ausblick, warum nicht dort ein Essen einplanen fix? Oder zumindest die Möglichkeit bieten? Waren wir die ersten die nach 3h Kultur eine Pause brauchten um danach 1,5h am Vesuv zu verbringen? Das Gehetze habe ich von einer privaten Tour nicht erwartet.

The tour of Pompei and Herculaneum was excellent despite the torrential rain and flooding that prevented us from going to Mt. Vesuvius. I am hoping to get a refund for that portion of the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and did not let the foul weather dampen her mood. There was confusion regarding the pick up time. The email said pickup at 8:00 and when they didn't show we called them abd they said they changed the pickup to 9:00 am. After several phone calls they finally picked us up at close to 9:45. That was a very poor way to start a really good tour.
