Naples: Pompeii & Herculaneum with Tickets and lunch

This trip was absolutely amazing and well worth the money. Everything from pick-up from our hotel to Pompeii, then Herculaneum and on to the vineyard for a fantastic lunch and wine tasting. We spent so long enjoying our lunch and wine that it left very little time for our driver to get us to the vantage point on Vesuvius for some photos. As we knew in advance that the trip did not include going up to the crater, this was not a disappointment but a fabulous end to an incredible day. We were even contacted on the day of our trip by telephone to advise us of our revised pick-up time.

If you book these tours, be ready for a lot of walking, obviously. Our guide Anna, was lovely. Very knowledgeable about Pompeii. Thoroughly enjoyed that part of the tour. Herculaneum is about a 20 min drive from Pompeii, good break to gain strength in your legs before you start again. lol. What excavations they have unearthed are amazing. Of course it is similar to Pompeii, but you can see a difference. Then off to the winery for some lunch. I'm not a drinker, if I am doing a big tour that day, I always try to find one that has some sort of food break. The lunch was nice, a starter of meats, bread, cheese. Then spaghetti & a desert of apple, mixed peel pie. & all courses had their own wine as well. The lovely couple I was sharing with said they did enjoy most of the wine as well. If you really want to see both ruins, pick this one.
