Discover the “City of a 1000 Colors" on a full-day tour of Naples, inspired by the movie and book “Eat, Pray, Love.”
Following a pick-up from your hotel in Sorrento, drive along the Sorrentine Peninsula to the Bay of Naples. Upon arrival, take a tour of the historic center of Naples, including Piazza del Gesu to see the Baroque church of Gesu Nuovo and the romantic church of Santa Chiara.
Discover hidden treasures on secret corners and famous squares. Visit the Cappela Sansevero, where many works of art by leading Italian artists of the 18th century are located. Marvel at Raimondo’s “Veiled Christ” (“Il Christo Velato”) sculpture, before going to the Basilica San Lorenzo Maggiore above the old Roman market.
Stroll over to the church and monastery of San Gregorio Armeno just south of the Via dei Tribunali to see fountains adorned with dolphins and other sea creatures. Close by is the cobblestone alley of Via San Gregorio Armeno, where Christmas lasts all year round in the artisan workshops of “Christmas Alley.”
Stop for a pizza lunch in a famous restaurant. Then, spend the afternoon strolling around the monumental square of Piazza del Pleibescito. Enjoy some free time to admire the Royal Palace, San Carlo Opera, Galleria Umberto I, Via Toledo, and Piazza Trento e Trieste at leisure.
Enjoy an afternoon snack of a typical cake from Naples, served with coffee in Bar Gambrinus. Transfer back to Naples in the late afternoon for a drop off at your hotel or accommodation in Sorrento.
