  • Nairobi: Half-Day Baby Elephant and Giraffe Experience

    2. Nairobi: Half-Day Baby Elephant and Giraffe Experience

Following early morning pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi, journey for approximately 45 minutes to an animal orphanage in a secluded area of Nairobi National Park. Upon arrival, meet the orphaned baby elephants and other animals that are taken care of by a dedicated team of conservationists. At 11:00, the baby animals are brought from the national park for a mud bath at the orphanage. Get up close to them and benefit from the chance to touch them. You can even watch the handlers feed them during a 1-hour session (advance booking required). Then, listen to a talk about the elephants from the handlers. Go to the Giraffe Centre in the Lang'ata suburb of Nairobi, and get up close to the animals. Learn about the work of the sanctuary, and hand feed the giraffes from a raised observation platform before the return journey to Nairobi where you will get dropped off at your hotel at around 15:...

Baby elephants were great. They treat them really well and it's nice to see them being elephants. The giraffe centre is basically just two giraffes you can feed and in my opinion not wort the money. Overall it was a good experience.

What people are saying about Nairobi

We saw so many animals! Getting up at 5AM is very early but it was totally worth it. We saw lots of tigers (around 10), 3 Rhinos, 4 Giraffes and many other animals. If you want to experience the wild near Nairobi this is a great excursion. The vehicle is a minivan with a roof that can be elevated so you can see through the free space. After we went to the Elephant Orphanage which was great too. And last we went to the Giraffe Center until the driver brought us to our hotel. Our driver was Anthony and he was great. He always asked us if we wanted to stop anywhere and the tour was fully customiseable to our wishes. We are two travelers and we were six people in total on the tour. (excluding driver)

Excellent!

The driver was very professional but above all very available to help us in our small technical difficulties. Taking into account that I was traveling with my 80-year-old mother, she proved to be really caring. I recommend it to anyone who needs it.

On time; professional; comfortable ride

They were able to change my hotel pick up location easily. Need to have a device with you in order to communicate with them. I didn't take anything with me and had to borrow someone's phone! Ask them to turn on air conditioning!!!!!!!!

Very efficient and fast transfer at 4AM in the morning.

We missed a connection and we're rerouted on a later flight. I emailed getbyour guide and they responded within 10 minutes and were waiting fir us outside the terminal. Great service.

All ran according to plan. Collected from hotel, went directly to giraffe centre, then onto the elephant sanctuary and home.
