Full description
You will be picked up from your Nairobi Hotel or the Airport around 5:00 AM before departing for the Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. Take the chance to enjoy the African sunrise as you head towards Amboseli. The morning drive is via African savanna country, which is dotted with local homesteads and colorful Masai herdsmen grazing their cattle. There will be a brief breakfast stop on the way. On arrival at the Amboseli, proceed for a game viewing drive in search of Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Lions, Cheetahs, Warthogs, Ostriches, and more. Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the skyline and surrounding country. Take in spectacular views of the mountain and make sure that you get some great photographs. It's the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. While Mount Kilimanjaro remains in the background, marvel at the wildlife and scenery that can be found in the park. Enjoy a buffet lunch at Oltukai Lodge. Enjoy a short early afternoon game viewing as you exit the park. Depart for Nairobi, where you will arrive in the early evening and get dropped off at your Nairobi hotel, Nairobi Airport or residence.

Getting up early was absolutely not mine and the perceived very high price initially kept my expectations low, but I was convinced by the great driver, the park, Kilimanjaro and the dream lodge with perfect food / service! As a recommendation, I can say for others that an overnight stay in the lodge amidst the animals, i.e. the whole thing as a 2- or 3-day trip, will definitely increase again!

This is such a great tour if you have some time in Nairobi. If you're ever in Kenya, this is a must! We saw at least 50 elephants just in front of Mount Kilimanjaro. We visited in January, so everything was very green and in pristine condition. Our driver was Anthony Clove. He knew so much about the animals and told us everything we wanted to know about them. We (2 people) had the minibus to ourselves so it was something like a private safari. The food in the Ol Tukai Lodge was a big buffet and there was enough to make everyone happy :). We were very lucky to see Cheetahs on the hunt, a rock python on the hunt and a one day old baby hippo. We visited two National Parks in Kenya (Amboseli and Nairobi NP) and it was definitely worth visiting them both! Just be aware if you have back problems or motion sickness, this may not be right for you as the streets can get very very bumpy. It seems like a very long day of driving but it's worth it (The view on the way is great)
