  • Nairobi: Half-Day Baby Elephant and Giraffe Experience

    1. Nairobi: Half-Day Baby Elephant and Giraffe Experience

Following early morning pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi, journey for approximately 45 minutes to an animal orphanage in a secluded area of Nairobi National Park. Upon arrival, meet the orphaned baby elephants and other animals that are taken care of by a dedicated team of conservationists. At 11:00, the baby animals are brought from the national park for a mud bath at the orphanage. Get up close to them and benefit from the chance to touch them. You can even watch the handlers feed them during a 1-hour session (advance booking required). Then, listen to a talk about the elephants from the handlers. Go to the Giraffe Centre in the Lang'ata suburb of Nairobi, and get up close to the animals. Learn about the work of the sanctuary, and hand feed the giraffes from a raised observation platform before the return journey to Nairobi where you will get dropped off at your hotel at around 15:...

Baby elephants were great. They treat them really well and it's nice to see them being elephants. The giraffe centre is basically just two giraffes you can feed and in my opinion not wort the money. Overall it was a good experience.

Then we went to visit the Karen Blixen house and museum, also well worth a visit, with a informative and chatty personal guide to fill in the historical detail. Highly recommended!

Alex the tour guide was very nice and was prompt. he managed to get us to are destinations on time and before all the other tourists turned up, that's a plus when it comes to busy Nairobi!

The local guide did a good job. He really did he best to support me with best photoes. Told a lot of information. Brought back to necessary location.

All ran according to plan. Collected from hotel, went directly to giraffe centre, then onto the elephant sanctuary and home.

Excellent tour, with a special guide, always helpful to all others' vehicles stuck in the mud due to inexperience :)
