Málaga: Carmen Thyssen Museum Ticket

2. Málaga: Carmen Thyssen Museum Ticket

Go to the newly restored Museo Carmen Thyssen in Málaga, and see stunning examples of 19th-century Spanish and Andalucían art. You have the option to tour on your own, or with a guide for added information. Explore the permanent collection, temporary collection, or both. Whichever option you choose, you will get time to admire the beautiful 16th-century Palacio de Villalón, a key example of the city’s Renaissance architecture. The palace was built over the remains of the Roman city, within the old Moorish quarter of Málaga, and restoration focused on the recovery of its original layout, combined with newly built areas that co-exist in an understated manner. Arranged over 2 floors around a central courtyard, surrounded by arcaded galleries, particularly notable elements are the carved wooden ceilings and supporting fretwork in the principal rooms, where a number of 17th-century Spanish paintings are on display. Adjoining the palace are various new buildings designed in a contemporary style to house the permanent and temporary exhibitions. From its outset the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza collection has been admired for its wide-ranging scope and rigorous quality, presenting a comprehensive survey of 19th-century Spanish painting genres, with a particular focus on Andalusia.

Of course, it is much cheaper here than there, it is very profitable because it makes many important stops, they explain, you have a walking tour included, the boat was a spectacular plus. Although I emphasize that we had problems to redeem some of the activities that were supposedly included, such as wines, tapas ...

Lots of pick up and drop off points , easy to find and staff very helpful. We went all the way round and then stayed on until we got to the castle. Had a look round and caught next bus back to town. As we didn't start until 1pm we could use it the following day as well.

Very well, I took the tickets on my mobile, they printed them right there, and it was all perfect.

Easy to use Unfortunately it stops at 5 pm and we waited 30 mins and then had to walk not helpful

Always a pleasant experience. Corresponds to the description of the activity
