Discover one of Europe's most picturesque location. This 1-day tour to Salzburg from Munich will show you the highlights of the city of Mozart, including the composer's birthplace, Mirabell Palace and Gardens, St. Peter's Church, and Getreidegasse.
What to Expect
Explore the city of Mozart and the location of The Sound of Music; Salzburg boasts one of Europe's most picturesque urban landscapes.
Nestled within Alpine mountains beneath a magnificent elevated fortress, the city is divided into two halves by the Salzach River, connected by the Nonntal and State Bridges, and the Mozart, Makart, and Mülln footbridges for pedestrians only.
The left bank's history dates back to an ancient Roman settlement, and features buildings from the Romanesque, Baroque, and Renaissance periods, threaded together by countless narrow streets and passageways, including the famous Getreidegasse. Much of the Old City is inaccessible to cars and other vehicles, making it ideal for leisurely walks and window shopping.
On the other side of the Salzach is the unmissable Mirabell Palace with its spectacular gardens. The tour will also visit St. Peter's Church, Cathedral Square, and the House of Mozart, with almost three hours of free time for shopping and lunch.
