What to Expect
Spend a full day in Mumbai, getting to know India's most famous city with a welcoming, informative guide. The morning will begin at the Gateway of India, an important site and Monumental Momento of the country's history of colonialism and independence.
Then head to the Prince of Wales Museum to deepen your knowledge. Admire its outstanding collection of art, archeology and cultural artifacts.
Then, move on to the modern side of Mumbai. From the bus you can spot the University of Bombay, the High Court of Bombay, and Crawford Market, on the way to the Hanging Gardens. Explore the Gardens, terraced on the crest of Malabar Hill, and take in a breathtakingview of the Arabian sea.
We will then travel through Malabar Hill, the upscale residential neighborhood of Mumbai’s rich and famous. After you enjoy a lunch at a city restaurant, it's time to observe a unique tradition in Mumbai: the Dhobi Ghat – the world's largest Open Air Laundry.
Finally, take the Bandra Worli Sea Link to visit the Bandra Band Stand for some Bollywood celebrity-spotting in one of Mumbai's wealthiest areas. Look just across the water to see Juhu Beach and Iskcon Temple. The day ends simply, with a breathtaking drive along Marine Drive, popularly known as the Queen’s Necklace, to take in the city's view of the Arabian Sea before being dropped off at your hotel.
