Hampi was the capital of the renowned Vijaynagar Empire from the 14th to the 16th centuries. There are over 3,000 temples in a relatively small area at this site. Some ornate, some simple, the temples speckle the landscape, ranging in size from large to small. You'll see the royal elephant house, the Vitthala temple, the queen's bath, and much more.
