The beauty of the Turkish Riviera combined with archaeological remains of the Roman, Byzantine and less-known Lycian culture on this fantasy cruise, all meals included! Swim, relax and explore sites including a castle and the sunken city of Kekova.
What to Expect
Cruise the Turkish Riviera from Fethiye to Olympos. Discover Ancient Greek, Lycian, Roman and Byzantine ruins, and swim in the beautiful sea as you live out a fantasy adventure aboard a gulet, a wooden sailing yacht with a motor. We take care of all meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner – for our guests, so you can relax and concentrate on having a good time.
Day 1: Fethiye - Butterfly Valley - Oludeniz - St. Nicholas Islandt
Departure from Fethiye harbor between 11:00 and 12:00 for swimming and lunch in Samanlik Bay. Our next stop is Butterfly Valley, a nature reserve hosting 136 kinds of different butterflies and moths. Afterward we cruise to Oludeniz, also known as the Blue Lagoon, home to one of the world's most picturesque beaches. Paragliding is an option here, providing spectacularly beautiful views of the turquoise water and majestic Babadag Mountain.
The last stop of the day is St. Nicholas Island, where you can explore Byzantine ruins and swim. Relax after dinner and then spend your first night on the sea.
Day 2: Aquarium Bay or Firnaz Bay - Kas
Around sunrise we leave for Aquarium Bay or Firnaz Bay, near Kalkan, for breakfast and swimming. Next we cruise to the charming fishing village of Kas. After lunch in the harbor, you can visit the Lycian rock tombs and sarcophagi, and the Roman theater, all that remain of ancient Antiphellos, as Kas was once known.
In the afternoon we head toward the fascinating sunken city of Kekova. We stop in a bay near our destination for swimming, dinner, and the second night on the water.
Day 3: Kekova - Simena - Gokkaya
We complete the journey to Kekova. This underwater Lycian-Roman archaeological site is protected, so be sure you only look and, if you have the right kind of camera, take some pictures. Afterward we sail to Simena, a traditional Turkish fishing village with no access by car. You, however, can visit the town and neighboring Byzantine/Ottoman castle.
Our final destination for the day is Gokkaya. Water sports are available in the bay until sunset. Then have dinner and relax in this former pirate's haven, or party the night away at the Smugglers' Inn.
Day 4: Gokkaya - Pirates Cave - Andriake - Myra - Olympos
After breakfast we have a look at the Pirates Cave before cruising to Andriake harbor, where we have lunch. You can visit the archaeological site of Myra, or go to Demre to see St. Nicholas Church, and do some shopping and banking as required. We arrive in Olympos between 16:00 and 18:00, and offer bus transfers to the town's famous treehouse lodgings.
