  • Dubrovnik: Kravica Waterfalls and Mostar Day Trip

    1. Dubrovnik: Kravica Waterfalls and Mostar Day Trip

Start your journey in Dubrovnik and enjoy a less than 2-hour drive with your English-speaking driver. Discover the scenic routes of Croatia and across the border to Bosnia and Herzegovina. First, stop at the Kravica falls, one of the best-kept secrets of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The falls created by the river Trebizat provide a relaxing background for swimming and picnics in summer. Then, continue to your next stop, the city of Mostar. Join your local guide for a tour of the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town. Then marvel at the Old Bridge that crosses the river Neretva. Finally, stop at the medieval town of Počitelj, before going back to Dubrovnik.

We were picked up from the hotel. The ride was comfortable and the driver Luka was wonderful. It was like a mini tour along the way during the drive. In Mostar Irfaan, our local guide, explained us about the history of the place and showed us the beautiful city. On our way back we stopped at the Kravice waterfall. Very serene and beautiful. Not many tourists.Overall a very memorable trip and highly recommended to anyone travelling to Croatia.

The trip to Mostar was a delight, as the historic city is beautiful, photogenic and provides a colorful change of landscape and culture, compared to Croatia, from the mosques, to the burek pastry and the Turkish coffee, served in cute little cups. In the morning a first stop was mode in Pocitelj, the first opportunity for a short hike, beautiful photos, and an enjoyable coffee break. The next stop was Mostar, where the temperature was really hot compared to Split. The local guide, Ana Maria, was really good at providing interesting and concise information about the history (old and new) of the place, as well as practical tips, and thus covering the introduction that should have been done by the Croatian guide (otherwise a funny guy), presumably. Border crossing was rather time consuming. On the way back to Split, a refreshing stop is made at Kravica waterfall. While the water is too cold for swimming, the scenery is lush and makes one forget about the hike back :-).

It was a wonderful day but we had to pick up several people along the route. I did not like the fact that it was a large bus. The day before we went in a van to Bosnia and was better to get around and less hassle at the border because of more people to process. I would not take a large bus again. Mosel was beautiful

Great service from iTravel House. They even picked us up at the train station in Mostar. The train from Sarajevo arrives at 9.05 am (but plan on 9.15-9.30). Our guide spoke clearly and had lots of information about the history of Bosnia & Herzegovina. The sites were all interesting in their own right, though we found Blagaj and Kravica to be the most beautiful. There is quite a price discrepancy booking over Get Your Guide vs. booking on location - higher over Get Your Guide - and then there is an additional 7.5 Euro or 15 Mark fee for entries. It’s still a good deal, but Get Your Guide should work on price harmony. Would definitely recommend this trip and agency. iTravel House also offers a free walking tour of Mostar in the evening.
