  • Moscow: Private Tour of Kremlin & Armory Chamber

    2. Moscow: Private Tour of Kremlin & Armory Chamber

See the rarest treasures of the Russian emperors on this 3-hour guided tour of the Kremlin and the Kremlin’s Armory Chamber. The Armory Chamber is an unparalleled treasure chest and is considered one of the 5 top museums of its kind in the world. Marvel at the museum's 10 Fabergé eggs, the ivory throne of Ivan the Terrible, the coronation robes of the Russian czars and the world's largest collection of jeweled royal carriages. With your knowledgeable guide, you’ll also explore the Kremlin grounds and learn about the fascinating events of Russian history that unfolded within the walls of this medieval fortress.

The tour and also the wealth of information presented could be structured better to make it more engaging and to allow information to be absorbed better. Long monologues that pack in too much information ended up being a bit tiring as this involved a lot of standing around. Great that tickets had been purchased in advance by tour guide and that aspect of the tour certainly was good.

Excellent guide... knowledgeable, well-spoken, engaging, all the things you would want out of a guide for such a major collection of Moscow sites. Was always evaluating to make sure we were seeing things we wanted to see and was willing to go into more or less detail depending on how interested we were. Was also great to get such a frank and nuanced view on Russian history from a Russian themselves.

We thought for a long time about the observation deck, higher on the 89th floor in the Federation Tower, or lower on the 56th floor in the Empire. As a result, they chose the Empire and did not regret it. The excursion is small, but interesting, the views are beautiful, and most importantly, the fog on the 56th floor is much less likely to meet in cloudy weather (by the way, girls from the 89th floor came down with us on the excursion, paid, but saw nothing - just a white haze and that's it ).
