What to Expect
There's more to see in Moscow than the Kremlin! Take the opportunity to visit one of the Soviet Union’s underground command posts. Visit a Cold War bunker located in the former top-secret Soviet command post, N42, also known as GO-42.
This bunker acted as the federal telephone/telegraph communication center. It was also the headquarters for Soviet leadership and the Ministry of Communications, as well as the Moscow area anti-aircraft defense communications center. In a global nuclear war, this communication center would have been one of the main command posts of the Soviet Government.
The tour itself travels 60 meters below ground, that's 18 floors down into the earth under central Moscow! Visit all the halls and the duty officer rooms in the complex. Museum exhibits feature military communication devices of the Soviet era, and you'll also get to watch a subtitled film which reflects the Soviet perspective of the Cold War.
Come and explore the 7,000 square meters of this unique underground complex. During the tour there will even be a mock excercise missile attack! You can also try on military uniform from Soviet times and take pictures during this fascinating tour that takes you back to Cold War times.
