What People Are Saying About Montevideo
This is one of the best tours I have ever done. Punta del Este is a really nice place to visit and some of the views are amazing! The local tour guide explains everything in detail about the area and what is involved. I was a bit apprehensive at first about coming to South America, but it is as good as anywhere I have ever been. Definitely a tour not to be missed in Uruguay, and worth every penny.
We were picked up at the Ermitage Hotel just around the corner from our apt, so it was very convenient. The seats on the bus were very comfortable and Adriana was very concerned about our well-being. We were the only 2 Americans onboard and Adriana made sure we didn't miss anything. The tour was well planned, but for us the best part was Adriana and Herman, our driver. He is such a good and steady driver and we felt very secure in his capable hands. Our biggest disappointment was that we didn't see anybody else tip our guide people, after they had been so cheerful and terrific. We think you should give them both a raise! We appreciated the staff that took us and received us. Very , very attentive. Food a little cold at the Estancia, but stil delicious. Would do it again!
Our ride which was a combination of the old city and the new beach areas was very good. Our guide new her way around town and provided a good explanation of all that we were visiting. The only downer was that when we finished the ride at the bike shop, we had to change money and pay for a taxi ride back to the ship which was completely unexpected. Not sure what we would have done if there was not a money changer near his shop!
