What to Expect
Visit an area in Costa Rica that most tourists miss on this 5.5-hour tour. Enjoy the stunning scenery on a horseback ride to San Luis Waterfall from Monteverde, a great experience away from the main tourist area. This tour is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced riders, as long as you can spend time in the saddle!
Your Costa Rica cowboy will pick you up at your hotel and you will begin riding down into the San Luis Valley with great views of the Costa Rican Pacific Coast. You will then get off your horse and hike for approximately 30 minutes to get to the San Luis Waterfall, where you can relax, take a dip in the cool rushing waters, and enjoy the rainforest that surrounds you.
The San Luis area outside the Monteverde Cloud Forest is famous for its coffee growing and is at a lower elevation than Monteverde and Santa Elena. The entrance fee of $10 goes directly to the local farmer who owns the land where the San Luis Waterfall is.
