Horseback Riding Tour

6. Horseback Riding Tour

Ride on a Colombian Creole horse along the fauna, flora, rivers, creeks and lakes that make the Andean highland a perfect scenario for a thrilling day out in nature during your stay in Bogotá. On this tour, you will be driven from Bogotá to a rural location 40 minutes to the south east of the capital. There, a local cowboy will be expecting you with tame - yet powerful - horses ready for the adventure. After some instructions and advice, you'll start the ride, in the company of a guide (if option selected). Going up to 3,200 MAMSL, you will enter an Andean ecosystem, which is very different to the stereotypical image of the tropical jungle many visitors have about Colombia. After an hour's ride, you'll reach a fantastic lookout point where you'll be able to see the Monserrate Hill and even Bogotá in the distance. After a break (for stretching your legs and having a snack), you'll head back to the ranch via another path, making a loop. Once back at camp, a hot homemade meal cooked by a local, using ingredients fresh from the garden, will be waiting for you. After lunch, you will be taken back to your hotel or any other place in Bogotá.

Had a wonderful experience and tour with Hector! Our driver was fantastic as well. This was a private tour and Hector really tailored it specifically to my requests. I got to see beautiful views of Bogota and was really able to get a nice understanding of the town by night. We had dinner at Andres which was a highlight for me! What a fun place! It was a wonderful tour! Hector also was so informative about my El Dorado tour the next day. He told me that the guides would be in Spanish only and really went beyond the call of duty to explain everything to me ahead of time. He is incredibly knowledgeable and knows so much about Bogota and Colombia. He is a super great guy and guide and I had a an absolutely wonderful time. I highly recommend this tour with Hector to everyone!

Great experience more so because we were the only ones on the tour - special thanks to our guides - Maria & Francisco - they were fantastic! Feedback to future travellers (and the company) - the sights were great the trail were was is not easy - ideally should not be the first time on a horseback, do believe everyone should be given helmets.

The guide is amazing, professional in his field. Arrived exactly at the appointed time. I found a Russian translator for me. I recommend to everyone!

Recommend this tour! Tour guide was timely, very well informed, and spoke impeccable English. It was a fun time!

Marie was an awesome and very knowledgeable tour guide
