Top attractions in Mombasa
One of the major tourist destinations in Africa is Mombasa, a coastal city in Kenya that is home to some of the best white sand beaches in the world. The Indian Ocean offers everything from swimming and water sports to deep-sea fishing, sailing, and scuba diving. But Mombasa also has an interesting cultural history as well as fascinating architecture and great restaurants and clubs. You can experience it all through interesting guided tours.
A city tour of Mombasa lets you see the highlights of this old city. You can visit the produce markets, see the Old Arab streets, and see Fort Jesus that was built by the Portuguese to protect the harbor. You will have a chance to walk under the famous Moi Avenue Elephant tusks used in the filming of adventure movies made about Africa.
The tour of the city takes you to the Bamburi Nature Trail that includes a wildlife park with animals like hippos, giraffes, zebra, and waterbucks.
A perfect evening tour is a Dhow Cruise in the harbor on an Arab dhow, past Fort Jesus. Enjoy the daily light and sound show and then go on to dinner in the Fort. After dinner it is on to a local casino. The evening ends with a stop in the renowned Bora Bora Club where the natives put on an amazing show with local costumes and dances.
What people are saying about Mombasa
The guide was informative, he passed us over to a very knowledgeable person at Fort Jesus, who also took us around Mombasa Old Town , however we weren't taken to the Craft Market or to a restaurant for Lunch, so by the time we got to Haller Park, we were quite hungry, we asked for the guided tour at Haller Park as you can wander on your own, but left to us we wouldn't have bothered to see everything, it was a good day except for the 2 missing things, but be aware it's a lot of walking and we dont think Haller Park it suitable for someone with any walking issues as you walk over tree roots and mushy forest floor
Quite a nice day out snorkeling, including a traditional lunch at a local restaurant in Wasini, followed by a visit of the village and of the mangrove garden. We would have liked to see the slave caves as well, but there was no more time for that on the way back. Friendy staff and a good experience overall.
This day tour was AMAZING!!! The beach was soooo beautiful, also, snorkeling(or you can do free diving) was such a incredible experience. It totally deserves spending 100USD for this tour.
