Full description
Visit the Milan Duomo with stair or elevator access. Skip the ticket lines and enjoy access-all-area entry, with the possibility to visit the cathedral, terraces, museum, archeological area, and Church of St. Gottardo in Corte.  One of the largest cathedrals in Italy and Europe, the Milan Duomo is the patrimony of the Milanese people and humanity. Deeply linked to the teachings of the bishops who succeeded on St. Ambrose’s chair, the cathedral is the mother Church of the Diocese, having a symbolic role both in the life of the city and in relation with the Diocese. Admire city panoramas from an elevation of 164 feet (50m). Built using Candoglia marble, the Duomo Terraces cover a surface of approximately 26,250 square feet (8,000 sq. m). Get an unusual point of view of the Duomo’s architecture, especially on bright days when you can see as far as the Alps and the Apennine Mountains. Admire the 27 halls of the Grande Museo del Duomo, and see the stained glass windows, tapestries, and sculptures from the 14th-century Palazzo Reale. Marvel at liturgical objects, some of which are still used during religious rites.  See the archeological remains of the S. Giovanni alle Fonti Baptistery and S. Tecla. Get a better appreciation of the cultural and spiritual heritage of Milan. Built in the 4th century by St. Ambrose, and demolished in 1387 to make space for the cathedral, the Baptistery was forgotten until 1961, when it was recovered during underground construction works.

That was a successful day trip from Lake Garda. Decided at short notice and booked online the evening before. Tickets on the I Pad were transferred in seconds and nothing stood in the way of the city tour. It is recommended to arrive in Milan early in the morning and to have selected a parking garage that is also close to the city center. Around 9 a.m. it was almost too late because one of the last parking spaces was caught! (Maybe better book better,) Cathedral and terrace were a dream and will not be forgotten! Then a leisurely stroll through the old town including a visit to the Emanuell shopping center opposite with all its designer shops.

The church is well worth seeing inside. The access to the roof is on the north side. Those who are reasonably fit can take the stairs up, especially since there are two sections. Staying on the roof is an experience. The view over the city and especially over the many turrets and battlements is impressive.

Our weekend trip to Milan with two children (2 / 5y.) Was very nice. Better to buy tickets in advance and not have to queue up. The view on the terrace was great. We took the elevator to the terrace, but had to use the stairs to go down. Price performance OK. Would definitely recommend to everyone.
