It becomes an amphitheater under the emperor Caracalla and, in the same period, the orchestra was converted into an arena to host gladiator fights. After centuries of neglect, in 1465, part of the monument was used as a palace of residence of the Zumbo family.

Our trip to Mount Etna with Giovanni was extraordinary. His professionalism and local knowledge made our journey enriching and seamless. Thanks to Giovanni, we skipped the long queue for the cable car at Etna, enhancing our experience. Although he didn't join us at the summit, his recommendation to reach 3000 meters was spot-on for the full Etna experience. Giovanni's insider tip led us to the best local honey, a hidden gem we wouldn't have discovered otherwise. His driving was impeccable, and his insights as a guide were amazing. The van was comfortable, and his local secrets added a special touch to our adventure. Climbing Etna was breathtaking, deserving a perfect score. This trip was a highlight of my Sicily stay, and I highly recommend Giovanni's tour. He's truly the G.O.A.T (greatest of all time) of guides, making our experience unforgettable.

Captain Enzo was excellent. He knows everyone and everything in and around Taormina and was great at pointing out all the sights. He was really communicative and flexible regarding the weather as the original day we wanted to go was really cloudy and windy, so we moved to the next morning with no trouble.

Ricardo & Sally know how to share their passion for food, Sicily, wine and life in an extraordinary way. The wine tasting was amazing, the knowledge of Etna and the island in itself really gave it an extra dimension to the experience. Their hospitality really makes u feel welcome. Much recommended.

We made the best choice, the route was beautiful, the transport impeccable. Our guide, Giovanni, was the best, he gave us a lot of information about Mount Etna and its surroundings and we give him 10 with congratulations.

This tour was very fun and exciting! And the Prosecco and strawberries were icing on the cake :) this gives you such a different perspective on Taormina and we would recommend this to anyone
