  • Pyramids of Giza, Sakkara & Memphis: Private Tour with Lunch

    1. Pyramids of Giza, Sakkara & Memphis: Private Tour with Lunch

Embark on a full-day tour to the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, Memphis and Sakkara. Start your tour by visiting the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos. The highlight of this section is getting close up to the Sphinx - the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren. Admire the impressive statue and get your photo taken beside it. You will then visit Sakkara, a 27 km journey away from Cairo. The highlight of this section is the Step Pyramid. Built for King Zoser, it is considered an important part in the process of the pyramid evolution. Finally, you'll head over to Memphis. Not the home of Elvis, of course, but the ancient capital of Egypt!

Great day with Mohamad. The tour went super smooth, on time, hassle free and our guide was super nice and very knowledgeable of the history and facts. We had an amazing day! Could skip the souvenir shops though but it is part and some were interesting to see.

  • Cairo: Pyramids, Memphis, and Sakkara Private Day Tour

    2. Cairo: Pyramids, Memphis, and Sakkara Private Day Tour

Start your day trip to the Great Pyramids, Memphis, and Sakkara, with an 08:00 pick-up at your hotel. Your guide will take you to the Giza Plateau where you will see the famous Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. Next, see the Great Sphinx statue and visit the Valley Temple, which is a part of the same ancient complex. Marvel at the ancient structure as you learn about the burial rites of the Pharaoh kings. The next stop on your day tour is the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, at the fascinating Sakkara archeological site. Built in the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 B.C.E.), this special pyramid is the world's oldest major stone structure. From the Step Pyramids transfer to Memphis, the former capital city of ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom. Having once reigned as a cultural center for over 3,000 years, Memphis offers stunning ancient sites and intrigue.

My 10 year old son and I had a great day visiting the Giza pyramids, Sakkara and Memphis. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Egyptian history and archaeology - and he could answer all my many questions about the sites we visited, how to read the hieroglyphs, how to build a pyramid etc.
