What to Expect
Day 1 - (L)
Depart Melbourne for a journey along the Great Ocean Road, one of the world’s most iconic scenic drives. Pass through surfing towns of Anglesea and Lorne before a stopping at Kennett River to find koalas, kookaburras and majestic parrots in their wild and natural habitat. Enjoy a picnic lunch in Apollo Bay on the seaside, before continuing the journey along the road to travel to the infamous shipwreck coast with its formations of the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge. Stay overnight in the heart of the Grampians National Park, Halls Gap.
Day 2 - (B)
Wake up to the calls of kookaburras, cockatoos, magpies and kangaroos greeting the morning. Complementary breakfast at your accommodation. Take a series of walks to view points of the Grampians scenic landscapes. Stop to visit Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Center and learn about the Jardwardjali and Djab Wurrung. Hike to the formation of the Jaws of Death from Reeds Lookout, before descending the stairs of MacKenzie Falls, one of Victoria's largest waterfall. Leave the Grampians behind as you continue to Adelaide, staying the night in the city center.
Day 3 - (L,D)
Starting at 6.15 am, meet at the Sealink Bus Terminal – 85 Franklin St (inside Adelaide Central Bus Station). The bus will connect with the Kangaroo Island ferry. Visit Rob’s Shearing & Sheep Dogs, a true Aussie experience with a stop at the Eucalyptus Oil Distillery. Journey to Seal Bay to check out a wild breeding colony of Australian Sea-Lions before making your way to Little Sahara to roll down the white sand dunes. Stay on the island overnight at Vivonne Bay Lodge and enjoy a BBQ dinner.
Day 4 - (B,L)
Start the day by getting up close and personal with Koalas, Emus and Koalas. Explore the signature and unique granite boulders of Remarkable Rocks as you wander around the island. Watch a colony of New Zealand Fur Seals frolic among the waves and admire the dangling stalactites from Admirals Arch. While at Flinders Chase Visitor Center, tuck into a delicious BBQ lunch before making your way to Stokes Bay's secluded beach, and hike up Ironstone Hill, keeping your eye out for wallabies. Return to Adelaide for a late afternoon arrival via the ferry crossing.
