  • Pentridge Prison: 1.5-Hour Ghost Tour with Special Access

    2. Pentridge Prison: 1.5-Hour Ghost Tour with Special Access

With 44 bodies buried on-site and a who’s who of Australia’s criminal underworld having called Pentridge home, it's no wonder the facility is haunted by its past. Get access to buildings closed to the public as your personal ghost guide takes you on an eerie 2-hour tour for adults only. Enter the site and begin your tour of Pentridge Prison, D Division, built in 1850. The first prisoners arrived at the prison in 1851, and it was officially in 1997. Learn about the dark side of Australia's most famous prison. Ronald Ryan was the last man executed at Pentridge Prison, and in Australia. He was hanged in D Division at 08:00 on 3 February 1967 after being convicted of the shooting death of a prison officer during a botched escape from the prison. Later that day, Ryan's body was buried in an unmarked grave within the D Division facility.

It was a great experience, especially on a cold winter's night. Highly recommend it!!!

  • Australia's Great Ocean Road and 12 Apostles Full-Day Tour

    4. Australia's Great Ocean Road and 12 Apostles Full-Day Tour

Australia’s Great Ocean Road is legendary; a road that hugs the side of sheer cliffs, and where native bushland meets the clear blue waters of the most spectacular coastline. Take a full-day journey along this miraculous road, and enter a land of mighty rock formations. Hear tales of shipwrecks along the coast, and get breathtaking vistas around every corner. As you drive, you will see spectacular views of the coastline, including the famous 12 Apostles rock formations, and Loch Ard Gorge.  You will travel in a small coach, with a maximum of 21 passengers, allowing for a more personalized service throughout the day. Your driver/guide will have extensive local knowledge, helping to point out the best of the best sights.

John the bus driver was very safe and experienced with his driving. He also was very knowledgeable about the history of Melbourne city and country. John gave more than acceptable time frames when we stopped. Unfortunately some travellers abused this and made our late return, even later. I feel a little reminder to those who abuse the time frame the first time, is quite okay. This may then deter them from being late a second time as we experienced. The food at Waves was absolutely yummy! I felt the tour was great and will recommend Melbourne's Best Tours to our family and friends.

  • Phillip Island: Penguins and Wildlife Full-Day Tour

Organization was really fine, everything worked out and Tara was a very nice and funny guide. To watch the penguin parade was a great experience, too. So funny and cute to watch the little guys walking along the seaside to their homes. Maybe good to know: Photography is not allowed with the penguins, but at all other events it's no problem. Take warm clothes (windbreaker, scarf and cap) for the penguins, because in late evening/night it gets really cold with the wind at the beach. Not as good as expected the go-together with the Koalas. It's quite expensive to get in touch with them (~30 AUD) for a quick photo - and that's all. No option for stay longer close to them, maybe little feeding or just watch them close. And my photo wasn't that nice, too (couldn't see it before printed :\). So think about the Koala photo (you have to wait in queue -> time loss), but at all I would recommend the tour and do again :)
