Santorini: Classic Private Tour

2. Santorini: Classic Private Tour

After being collected by your guide your first stop is Oia. Driving to Oia is by itself an amazing experience, as the road taking you there is surrounded by cliffs and breathtaking seascapes. Oia is located high on the ridge of a cliff and has the best views of Santorini. In Oia you can choose to visit shops, or simply just walk around to discover the typical architecture of the island. You will then continue to Firostefani, where you can find the most visited church of the island with its famous blue dome. From Firostefani you can also enjoy a view of the volcano, the caldera, and Fira. Next you will visit Megalochori, one of the prettiest and quietest little villages of the island which is located inland, away from the caldera cliffs. A beautiful bell-towered archway welcomes you to this traditional village, that is an actual maze of extremely narrow cobblestone streets winding through hundreds of traditional whitewashed houses and churches painted in bright blue shades. Here you can can relax at one of the two tavernas at the main square of the village. You will later finish your tour at Profitis Ilias, the highest spot of the island. The mountain took its name from the monastery of Profitis Ilias (Prophet Elijah) which is built right on its peak. This vantage point offers you a unique panoramic view of the entire island, from the patchwork agricultural plains to the hilltop village of Oia.

What people are saying about Megalochori

Great day, great team!

The driver was able to drive backwards amazingly well! After being picked up five minutes earlier in the morning (almost a miracle abroad: D), we were driven to the port, which is so small that the driver had to drive the last 100-200m downhill on the cliff. Very impressive. The boat (catamaran yacht) was super great, a very small group, which was very pleasant and the team was just fantastic! The food was fantastic and there was plenty of choice (I still dream of the pasta salad and my girlfriend the shrimp). Beverage selection was more than I ever hoped for. Could have stayed on the boat longer and waived the winery. (Better book separately, as very hectic and I was very tired of swimming- so many fish ♥) Gladly again! Was absolutely worth the price!

We booked our tour for our first day in Santorini and couldn’t have asked for a better first day! The BBQ on the catamaran was excellent and the staff on board were very hospitable! However, the best part of our trip was yet to come! Once on land our tour guide Joanna took us to different wineries and different tourist spots on the island- she was amazing! Her insider knowledge and dedication to getting us the perfect photo was second to none! She ensured we had the best experience and honestly we couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide- she made our trip! Would 100% recommend!

We had the absolute best time on this tour!! The crew on the catamaran were so much fun and stopped at most special beaches on the island. The wine tour was also great. We had Amani as our tour guide. She was the sweetest and so knowledge about the history of the island as well as the wine. 100% recommend this tour!!! We felt like we saw most major parts of the island in just one day!

Completing all 3 activities in one day was too much. There's also no real place for you to change and freshen up after the Catamaran tour and change attire for the rest of the day. They offer the wine tasting and sunset tour separately without the Catamaran tour. I would recommend skipping out on this tour and do the wine tasting and sunset tour separate from the Catamaran boat tour.

The guides were awesome!!!

Was bummed we didn’t get to go on white beach and red beach!
