Full description
After pickup from your hotel in Medellín or the meeting point, depending on the option chosen, begin your 4-hour tour by visiting the site of Escobar’s former home, where he hid his family and had enemies plant bombs to kill him. Learn about the transformation of this site into a memorial park for victims of Colombia's drug war. Next, head to “la cathedral”, a jail Escobar built for himself in an agreement with the government, from which he later escaped. Afterwards, visit the soccer field Escobar built, known for its visionary design, where he gave speeches in an attempt to make a foray into Colombian politics. To cap things off, make your way to the cemetery, where Escobar is buried along with his family and other members of his gang, including Griselda Blanco. By the end of the day, leave the tour with a better understanding of the negative impact that Escobar had on the country and the lives of the Colombian people.

Esteban was wonderful! I wasn't super excited about this tour, but went because my husband really wanted to go. It turned out to be so much better than I expected. Esteban knew Everything about the history and shared different perspectives of the story, which I appreciated. I learned a lot and all of the stops were very informational. It also gave us a chance to see parts of Medellin we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Definitely recommend!

This was a great tour to learn about the history of "he who must not be named" and how he affected Medellín and Colombia as a whole. It really opened my eyes how inaccurate the world's media has portrayed their culture and the historical events that occurred. We got to places that were a pertinent part of Escobar's timeline and we got to see how it is now and how the people view those places. Esteban was a fantastic guide and he was very knowledgeable about not only the topic, but of other questions we had of the city and country. It was a small group (4 of us) and it was nice to be able to ask whatever questions we had and to learn in depth about the huge impact this person had on their country and culture.

We were of course curious for this tour after Narcos and Dark Tourism. Lessening to the violent stories and the harm that was done to the country and the people brought more perspective to the reality of the Pablo reign. Daniel, our tour guide, not only is very knowledgeable of what happened but also had varied knowledge about Medellin and the flora and fauna surrounding the area. Not only we learned the reality without the ‘Netflix pink cortine’ but we also had a lot of fun with Daniel. I really recommend the tour!
