Full description
The ride begins at the Place du Moulin in Bel Ombre, where you'll start by heading towards La Baie de Jakotet and then turn towards the village of Rivière des Galets. There, you'll discover the Batelage of Grand River South-East, the former harbor of Souillac. You will visit one of the oldest churches in Mauritius, the church of Saint-Jacques. The group will then make a stop at the charming Telfair Gardens, the colonial judiciary and the former train station. At all the stops, your guide will share some interesting history and stories about what you're seeing and experiencing, and give you time to relax, cool down and take some snapshots! From the top of the Gris-Gris cliffs at “La Nef”, former house of the poet R. E. Hart, enjoy the spectacular view that the poet so loved before visiting “La Roche Qui Pleure” (The Weeping Rock). On the return journey, taste a delicious local meal thanks to the generous and dynamic Mrs. Mala: an unforgettable moment of generosity and local hospitality. You'll hit the road again, next stop St. Felix, where you'll enjoy a snack and head to the Riambel public beach. Then, continue your journey to the Bel Ombre Sugar Estate which marks the end of the ride. If your group of 10 or more so chooses, it's possible to add to the tour a visit to the Rochester Falls: immerse yourself in nature and then take a refreshing dip at these wonderful waterfalls. The trail through the sugarcane fields leading to the waterfalls takes an additional 40 minutes and requires additional effort - but this getaway is worth it!

We got very good bikes with support. The tour led along the coast with beautiful views. We were a small group and had a personable tour guide. At the same time, we were accompanied by a support vehicle with spare wheels all day long. And lunch with a Mauritian family was a great thing. People are very hospitable.

Very nice tour to the south

It was a really great tour. The guides are very professional and warm. Lunch was taken with a local, authentic and very, very fine. We were 7 people. The only thing we had booked the tour in English. Except for my husband and me, the other guests were French-speaking. Fortunately I can speak both languages so I had to translate a lot for my husband. It was also a shame that we couldn't start on time in the morning due to 4 guests arriving an hour late. Not so great for the guides and the punctual guests. In any case, we would highly recommend the tour just because of the great landscape and impressions we received and the warmth of the guides
