What to Expect
Step behind the scenes of the hectic and disobedient Marseilles; the perfect place for a custom tour.

At first sight the city can surprise you with it's shabbiness and chaotic atmosphere. Marseilles has often be depicted as the French Chicago, the city of drugs and crime. This bad reputation is fertile ground for an entertaining, informative, cultural, and memorable experience.

Tales and history will reveal to you the hidden treasures behind the city’s façades and dirty streets: why is the National Anthem called the Marseillaise? How did Marseilles became the center of  international heroin traffic in the 80′s? Is Marseilles still the French Chicago? How come Marseilles has been quoted as one of the 10 cities to be visited by the New York Times in 2013? These are all questions that will be answered on this tour.

Meet at the foot of the Old Port, discover many historical buildings of the Panier District, and visit the MuCEM along with the Fortress St Jean. You can escape from the hectic city life and have a beer on the picturesque Marseilles seafront.

Discover how many brilliant ideas and creations have been born in this swarming historical commercial harbour: the first café, the first cinema, the first postcard, aside from the first chamber of commerce (1599), the first pizza van, and more.

Feel the attraction that brought a host of wonderful writers to Marseilles, to write, take a boat, or lose themselves like Casanova, Mark Twain, and Alexandre Dumas.

Remember with nostalgia the glorious past of the old harbor of the oldest city in France. Live the ongoing transformation of the city, becoming an international metropolis with new museums, architecture, and business districts.
