An amazing day trip to Ourika Valley, leaving the hustle and bustle of Marrakech behind!
What to Expect
You will be picked up at around 9:00 am from your accommodation in Marrakech and go in the direction of the Atlas Mountains. After some 45 minutes through olive tree groves you should arrive to the gate of Ourika valley in the village of Tnine Ourika, with a great weekly market every Monday where all the inhabitants come to buy what they need. After visiting the market (if it's a Monday), begin the 2-hour walk through a lot of Berber villages and many cultivated terraces till you reach the village of Timalizine. From there, cross the bridge and get back to the main road and the car that will drive you up the Ourika valley till you reach the stunning village of Setti Fadma which marks the end of the Tarmac road.
Once up here have lunch at a local restaurant before setting off for another 45 minute walk to visit some of the waterfalls and return to Marrakech afterwards and possibly visit a Berber home on the journey back. You should arrive there at around 17:00.
People can opt not to take the long walk and enjoy short ones along the road and take pictures.
