Full description
You’ll be picked up in Marrakech from where you'll head out in an air-conditioned 4WD vehicle on a drive across the largest mountains in North Africa. En route you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and fertile valleys. This 10-hour trip is priced for a group of up to 4 persons. See the salt mines in the Ounila Valley, the Pacha Glaoui Kasbah, and Telouet. Visit the Ksar (Castle) of Ait-Ben-Haddou, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. The village of Ait-Ben-Haddou is situated on a hill in the Souss Massa Draa region, along the Ouarzazate River. It was an important stop for traders carrying gold, salt, and slaves along the main caravan route through the Sahara. Both Lawrence of Arabia and Jesus of Nazareth were filmed here. The entire lower part of the village was rebuilt, and in recent years, more controlled restoration was carried out under the watchful eye of UNESCO. Lunch will be in a local restaurant in Ait-Ben-Haddou, where you’ll enjoy your meal with panoramic views of the Kasbah. You'll then return to Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka pass.

our Mehdi driver was perfect. punctual, courteous and helpful. not at all intrusive. I really enjoyed his non-stop in tourist traps. Telouet outside the circuit that is normally visited in Morocco is a small pearl, its ruins are fascinating and the only decorated part is ecstatic. that you fully enjoy, precisely because you don't have the anxiety of too many people present. Ait ben haddou I recommend visiting it with a guide, otherwise it becomes a sterile background in which one thinks of the films shot in this location. It is worth seeing both sites, but it must be calculated that you will spend about 6/7 hours by car for a little over an hour and a half of visit (40 minutes Telouet and just over an hour Ait ben haddou). finally along the way the snow-capped mountains in Africa, which I never thought could exist such a vision!

Your driver makes your day!

Moustafa deserves a star! Our driver was at the location in time, in a clean, safe car and super friendly. We started off with a laugh and we didn’t stop! He understood we don’t like mass tourisme and he made regular stops for photo’s and toilet breaks at more ‘quiet’ places. Only disappointment on 12hrs together-lunchplace was very poor! But in all honesty-Ait Ben Haddou is so extremely busy and touristic, that in hindsight I think Moustafa maybe took us to the best out of all the worst places there!

Really nice tour!

A really nice tour booked as a private tour with 4 adults. Great views, guide was very nice. Answered all questions and responded to our requests (photo stops, longer stays at the stops). The car was great, but unsuitable for tours with four people, because the space in the back center is not comfortable and you can't see much. But ideal for 1-3 people (we only went to 3 because 1 person was sick).
