What People Are Saying About Marrakech
Started off a big rocky due to pickup arrangements. We were supposed to be picked up from our hotel but weren't and ended up being picked up late. The Palm Grove is supposed to have over 100 thousand palm trees and we saw less than 10 which was a big disappointment. Our visit with a Berber family was short as all we did was have tea and a crepe . There was no "see/experience the Berber lifestyle" as promoted. However the guides were great! They took pictures of us with our cameras so that we could have the option to not buy theirs. The camels were in pretty good condition as well but would've liked to see them get water during our break for ethical reasons.
Thank you so much to Ibrahim for guiding is around the Atlas Mountains. He was so knowledgeable, interesting, helpful - he even got a Mule to carry my mother and 22 month old son up the mountain so help make the experience a memorable one and easy one for all. And he even carried my little boy when we could no longer use a mule! Unfortunately the weather was not on our side but regardless; to be a part of that experience was one we shall cherish for ever. Gorton our driver was very hospitable and the private car that collected us was spacious, comfy, warm and clean. Gorton was helpful and friendly and a great driver for this trip. Thank you to the team that fed us at the guest house- it was delicious food and with the views of the snow tipped mountains it was so special. What a fantastic adventure to have shared with my little boy and mother. I am truly grateful for you allowing us to really enjoy your country and home town with you.
Matthieu was an awesome guide....he really was great, putting everyone at ease as we all showed up and got ready to mount our camels. He got us all dressed in our kaftans and headscarves and then told us about his nice camels (which they really were) and then got us all on our camels and then off on our way. The tour is pretty basic and nothing like being in the desert itself, but it's a fun morning activity to "check a box" and learn so much from Matthieu. He really is knowledgeable, having done this work for the past 14years...his English is good and he keeps things informative and entertaining the whole time. They provided water, then hooked us up with delicious mint tea and beignets at the end. He helped us take pictures and video and made the trip entertaining and enjoyable for us all. The van out and back from the camel trek was very slow and we were late because again they said to meet at Club Med....it should be "in front of the mosque"....that's much easier for people.
a well organized trip to the desert. the only thing I disliked where the high (un- Moroccan) prices at the drink and foodstops (specially those of the food)
Just do the hammam and traditional spa. Camel ride was a strange feeling, much better to spend a couple days in the Sahara with them if you're going to do it at all.
