Full description

Depart Marrakech in the morning and drive for 1 hour to the Moulay Brahim Gorges. Arrive at the main trailhead with streams and paths branching out in all directions, and experience the dramatic scenery on a camel ride. Reboard the vehicle then continue into the Imlil Valley, passing many Berber villages along the way.  Leave the vehicle at Imlil to head into the village, where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea. After, set off on a trek for 2 to 3 hours to Armed, the highest and biggest village in the Imlil Valley. Hike to the Berber village of Ait Souka, passing the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa, and Imoula en route. Stop on the way at Tamatert, and take in the glorious views of ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn, and vegetables surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. Continue for another 30 minutes to arrive at the home of a Berber family in Ait Souka, where you can enjoy another mint tea and lunch in the home of a Berber family. Return down the other side of the valley via Taourirt, and continue to Marrakech for your drop-off at the end of the tour services.

Brilliant experience. Our driver Abdul spoke good English and was very helpful. Our guide Ibrahim was brilliant too. Very humble man. Wife couldn't do the climbing so he arranged for a horse/mule (110MAD paid to the mule owner for the whole day). Very tasty tagine lunch. Good English speaking guide was extremely useful. Highly recommended.

I had a nice day out in the mountains. My guide gave me lots of information along the way. What I didn't expect was that, because I was a solo traveller, at the market and Imlil stops, I was handed over to another tour group and did the activity with them instead of with my guide. The forest at Imlil is really nice and the lunch in the Berber home was lovely.

This trip was definitely amazing. The locals were so friendly, the walk from one village to an other, the tajine with a wonderful mountain view, the tea by the family of the guide and the kindness and the all-time availability of the guide himself which nickname was batata or potatoes in arabic. From all the trips proposed around marrakech this was absoluuuutely the best. We did a big amount of activities in just one day. We were also pretty surprised by the last trip at the end of the day to Agafay desert and the camel ride. Thank you again to all the staff.
