During this 3-day desert trip from Marrakech to Merzouga, explore the south of Morocco with its old Kasbahs, spend a memorable night in nomadic tents and ride camels over the dunes.
What to Expect
Enjoy pick-up from your hotel in Marrakech, then cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass of the High Atlas mountains. Pass through Berber villages, riverside oases and barren hillsides clustered with Kasbahs once in the desert. After lunch, drive further to Valley of the Roses for beautiful views of the Dades valley, valley of a thousand Kasbahs, and stay overnight in Dades.
After breakfast, travel to Todra Gorge then drive on to "Auberge du Sud" at the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy a short break after arriving there around 16:00, then ride camels into the dunes. See the sun set and enjoy a fantastic dinner, before spending the night in Berber tents.
After viewing the most beautiful sunrise and having breakfast at the camp site, ride the camels back to the auberge. From there, it is a long day of driving back to Marrakech. Travel via Tichka pass before returning to your hotel.
