2. From Manchester: Lake District, Windermere, and Lancaster

Depart from Manchester in the morning and head straight for the lovely Lake District. Stop first at Bowness, situated on the shores of Lake Windermere. Take some free time to stroll along the lake, opt for a scenic cruise, or wander around the town and admire the sublime views.  Travel around the southern tip of Windermere toward Coniston Water. Take in views of this lake before arriving in the picturesque village of Hawkshead. This is where poet William Wordsworth attended grammar school.  After exploring the quaint village, take the narrow country roads north towards Grasmere, a place Wordsworth described as "the loveliest spot that man hath found." It was very nice experience riding with Darren, we went to three places in the lake district as well as a brief photo spot, and during the commute between the locations, we were entertained by his explanations of the history and culture of the area, and his exquisite taste of music. The spots included 2 towns and 1 park, however we would have prefered spending less time in the towns because a total of 4 hours was spent between them.

One of my best country side road trips. Beautiful scenery and history these sites have to offer. Darren made it even more exciting, loved the way he handled this whole trip, being patient with us tourists. Loved the way he gives us an overview of the trip and later recaps the journey on way back. If I was here longer would sign on for more such experiences.

It was a very nice tip. Tour guide was awesome and the car was comfortable. Overall very good.

The guides name was daren, and he was such a nice human being and an exceptional guide.

It was a great trip mainly because of Darren, our driver, guide, narrator and dj.
