Full description
Depart from Manchester in the morning and head straight for the lovely Lake District. Stop first at Bowness, situated on the shores of Lake Windermere. Take some free time to stroll along the lake, opt for a scenic cruise, or wander around the town and admire the sublime views.  Travel around the southern tip of Windermere toward Coniston Water. Take in views of this lake before arriving in the picturesque village of Hawkshead. This is where poet William Wordsworth attended grammar school.  After exploring the quaint village, take the narrow country roads north towards Grasmere, a place Wordsworth described as "the loveliest spot that man hath found." Enjoy spectacular views of Ullswater Lake as you continue on back roads to the southern shore, and then onwards out of the Lake District to Lancaster.  A contrast to the already-visited villages, this town boasts majestic medieval architecture and a spectacular castle that looms over the surrounding district. From Lancaster, head back toward Manchester, arriving in the early evening.

The guide Charly is a fantastic guide. He knows SO SO MUCH about everything that it makes the whole experience a 10/10. My wife and I really enjoyed this trip and learn a lot about every place we visited. I totally recommend this tour and specially this guide. He enhanced the tour putting some great music and poems that were related to the places we were visiting.

We enjoyed the whistle stop tour of the Lake District. It was very informative, have given us lots of ideas for future visits and was done in comfort. The Mercedes mini van was perfect for a more intimate trip, allowing the driver to do the full tour guide bit on the road in a way that wouldn't work in a full size coach.

Our tour guide Darren was excellent tour guide. He explained us all the details during the trip in a very pleasant way. We all enjoyed his companion. Also the tour was planned fabulous. The boat trip and the spots that we stopped were perfectly planned. We sure will be looking new trips with him and his company for the new sightseeings.
