What to Expect
Begin this full-day tour at the Tropical Hotel Marina on the Negro River and set sail to see where the waters of the Negro and Solimões Rivers converge to form a cappuccino of colors on the Amazon River.
Climb aboard a motorized canoe that will take you down the river to where the Negro and Solimões rivers meet to form the mighty Amazon. Stop to take pictures of the amazing natural phenomenon, before sailing up the Negro River to the January Ecological Park, where you will see the famous Amazon lilies of “Vitória Regia.”
Next, go through the igarapés (creeks) and igapós (flooded forests). Lunch will be served at a floating restaurant, after which you can stroll around the local Indian handicraft stores to seek out and purchase unique local arts and crafts.
