First, visit the Amazon theater, the main attraction of Manaus, built during the rubber boom and opened 1892. Continue with a small stroll passing College King Pedro II and enjoy the recently reformed Praca da Policia (Police Square) to visit various museums in the former Police headquarters.
Further on you will find the Rio Negro Palace, built by the rubber baron Valdemar Schulz and formerly the seat of the Government of the state of Amazonas. The Palace is now a museum.
Passing the Jefferson Peres Park and the Remedios Church, reach the municipal market, where you can observe various fish species as Tambaqui, Tucunaré (Peacock bass), Jaraqui, Surubim, Aruana, Pacu, and the largest sweet water fish Pirarucu (Apuama).
Walking along the river front, admire a marvellous view of the Rio Negro and the new bridge over it as you reach the Adolpho Lisboa Market, where you can shop for art crafts and natural products from the Amazon as Guarana and Acai. Conclude with a visit to the Igreja matriz (main cathedral) and the floating port.
