On this workshop, learn how to make the traditional Málagan dish of sardines cooked on skewers. Over 3-4 hours, you will learn the secrets of this dish at a beachfront restaurant. You will eat the dish with a drink, watching a live flamenco performance.
What to Expect
Espetada (sardines on skewers) is a typical Málagan dish, consisting of skewered fish that are grilled with vegetables. Sometimes you will find pieces of sausage, beef, and other meats mixed with the fish. In some coastal areas, you will even find these skewers set up on the streets.
Traditionally, a piece of broken sugarcane was used as the skewer, but in recent years, on the Costa del Sol, metal skewers have been used instead. In this workshop, you will learn the proper techniques for the skewer grilling method. Guided by a local chef, you will be brought close to this culinary art so deeply ingrained in the culture of the region.
After your master class in the preparation of espetos, you will taste the products at a traditional beach bar, along with bread, beer, wine and soft drinks. There will also be a live flamenco performance during the event. The total duration is 3-4 hours.
