Full description

Have an adventure along the El Caminito del Rey and walk 100 meters above the Guadalhorce River. Discover the Conde de Guadalhorce Dam, Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Canyon, and Guadalhorce River's history and importance to El Caminito del Rey.

Meet your guide and board your bus for a ride towards Conde de Guadalhorce Dam. Begin your walking tour and learn how the dam is Malaga's main water reserve. Hear about the history of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes and how the canyon was carved by the Guadalhorce River from your guide. Prepare to test your nerves on a high-up adventure along El Caminito del Rey. Follow the path which is about 3 kilometers long and less than 1 meter wide, hanging 100 meters above the Guadalhorce River. See the construction of a water channel from the reservoirs in the north to El Chorro and how the pathway was built for maintaining the channel. The path is known as El Caminito del Rey (the little pathway of the king) because it was inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII.

This was the highlight of our trip, and really blew us away! The walk is gorgeous and being in nature is a wonderful change from the tourist city. And while the first part may feel astonishing already, nothing prepares you for sights and experience towards the end. The whole trip also felt very safe and well managed, topped of the joyful and light-touch approach of the guide. Much recommended!

Definitely the best thing to see whilst in Malaga. The tour was organised great- we left on time, when the walk was finished the bus was waiting for us. Our lovely guide Estella was there for any step of the way- always open to questions and she had great knowledge. Definitely something to remember. Thanks again

Fantastic views, beautiful nature, interesting stories, a very nice guide. All in all, an amazing experience. But if you go there in the winter season, bring winter clothes: it was around 8°C in the morning and there is a quite a bit of waiting before you are allowed into the Caminito.
