From Split & Trogir: Dubrovnik Guided Day Tour

1. From Split & Trogir: Dubrovnik Guided Day Tour

Embark on a guided tour of Dubrovnik and its fortified Old Town. Come across major local landmarks and enjoy plenty of free time to explore at your own pace. Travel along the Adriatic coast and visit Ston for the chance to try their famous oysters. Start your tour on a very comfortable air-conditioned bus, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the view of the breathtaking Mediterranean scenery. Based on the previous agreement with the driver, you can stop to stretch your legs and take some fantastic photos. After arriving in Dubrovnik, one of the most outstanding tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, you will meet your local guide and start an hour-and-a-half-long walking tour through the narrow streets of the historic core of Dubrovnik. Explore this fantastic UNESCO World Heritage site and learn everything about its history and monuments. Take in Renaissance and Baroque architecture, red brick roofs, and long walls that have resisted enemy attacks through the centuries. Explore the Old Town's central street Stradun, the Franciscan Monastery, the renaissance Rector's Palace, the town walls, the Lovrjenac Fortress, and many picturesque squares and churches. After the walking tour with the local professional guide, you will have enough time to explore Dubrovnik independently. Make the most of your free time and stop by one of the local restaurants to taste some delicious traditional food. It's not a bad idea to ride on the cable car to the top of the Srd Mountain and enjoy the breathtaking view of Dubrovnik and its surroundings. You can also go to the local beach, take a quick swim, buy tickets for the Walls, and look at the city from a completely different angle. Since you have approximately four hours of free time, plan your activities before the trip since it is impossible to do all listed above. This perfectly well-spent day in Dubrovnik, you will get back on the bus and start your journey back to the northwest alongside the Adriatic coast. We’ll pass the villages of Orašac, Trsteno, Salona, and Elaphiti islands to our side to arrive in Ston where you will have the opportunity to taste our famous freshest oysters. Just the right break before arriving back in Split.

From Makarska: Hvar Island North Shore Speedboat Tour

2. From Makarska: Hvar Island North Shore Speedboat Tour

POKRIVENIK VELIKI: Our tour starts in Makarska with a 35-minute panoramic cruise to our first stop, Veliki Pokrivenik bay on Hvar island. It is one of the lesser-known and visited bays on Hvar island, decorated with impressive cliffs, beautiful pebble beaches and one hidden cave. What better way to explore this hidden treasure than while snorkelling. If snorkelling is not your thing, you can soak up the sun and the surrounding rocky landscape. MALA STINIVA: Our next stop is Mala Stiniva bay, a picturesque stone bay with cliffs that vertically drop to the sea below. It is a stunning sight and a place that leaves no one indifferent. The sea is crystal-clear, and the cliffs are a great cliff-jumping spot. JELSA: After enjoying some swimming and snorkelling fun in Mala Stiniva bay, we head to Jelsa town. In Jelsa you will have some free time for a coffee or to go sightseeing. Jelsa is an ancient town on Hvar island with numerous historical monuments that speak about its rich history. ZEČEVO ISLET: Opposite Jelsa town, only a short cruise away is our next stop, the islet of Zečevo. Zečevo is an unpopulated islet in the archipelago of Hvar and it is protected as a significant landscape. It prides itself on untouched nature and crystal-clear turquoise seas. It is a perfect spot for snorkeling. There is also a beach bar that you can visit if you want to wind down a bit.

Dubrovnik Day Tour from Split or Trogir

3. Dubrovnik Day Tour from Split or Trogir

Enjoy a full-day excursion from Split to Dubrovnik, where you will tour inside the historic city walls and along the limestone streets of the Old Town.  First, enjoy a scenic ride along the Dalmatian Coast, stopping once or twice for panoramic views across the Adriatic Sea. This is the Mediterranean as it used to be, before the onslaught of mass tourism. Upon arrival at the pearl of the Isthmus of Dubrovnik, take an official guided tour of the city’s historic monuments.  Each corner of Dubrovnik is a unique experience, and the 90-minute tour is enough to visit attractions such as the monumental Pile Gate, located at the top of Stradun, Dubrovnik’s famous street of limestone, polished by years of footfall. Go to the Franciscan Monastery, where 30,000 volumes, 216 incunabula, and 1,500 valuable handwritten documents are stored in the library. The cloister is one of the most magnificent monuments in the city and houses the oldest pharmacy in Europe, dating back to 1317. A little further on, encounter the Renaissance splendor of Sponza Palace, notable for its portico and columns, and elaborate stone carvings. Today it is home to Croatia’s State Archives.  Your guided tour ends at St. Blaise Cathedral, dedicated to the city’s patron saint and protector. Built on the ruins of a 12th-century church, it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1667, then rebuilt in a Baroque style.  You are now free to explore the town by yourself. Feel free to climb the city walls and walk the full 1.24-mile (2-kilometer) circuit, offering breathtaking views across a sea of terracotta tiles and the boats and cruise liners in the bustling port.  Try some authentic Croatian dishes in local taverns, or just enjoy a cup of coffee in an al fresco café and watch the world go by. On your way back to Split we will make a short stop for oyster tasting in Ston which is famous for its very well preserved town walls, its salt works, and its oysters.

We really enjoyed the activity from start to finish. At the beginning we were told again exactly where we would be going, when and what we could do at each location. Our guide Marco was super nice and helpful. What was particularly nice was that the bays where we could swim, snorkel or do cliff diving were pretty empty. We also received the materials we needed for snorkeling. In addition, each of us received water. We would do the tour again and again!

An absolutely fantastic boat trip with a nice captain, beautiful views, nice bays with incredibly nice water, easy to get in and out of the boat after snorkeling and a cozy little village to wander around in. Highly recommended 😃

Last tour for the season, so we where a small group. Coolbox with water, great views and swimmingplaces. 5/5.

Excellent trip, Marco was very informative and very worth the money

Nice tour, we had fun and our guide was very nice.
