Sightseeing in the small mountain village of Phu Long is not a very popular tour from Hanoi, but it was definitely something I would recommend. There were only my husband and I and one other woman on the tour, and we traveled in an SUV. It was a long 4-hour trip, but because we were a small group, we were flexible with toilet breaks, and the car was spacious and the seats were comfortable. The Whatsapp backup in advance was also very detailed, so I think I was able to participate with peace of mind. After arriving in Phu Long, we met up with the local guide and first walked to Bat Cave. I think we walked through the village and mountain path for 30 minutes each way, but the scenery was so beautiful that we didn't feel the time passing. Bat Cave was incredibly huge and a truly breathtaking experience. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to go inside the day tour, but even seeing it from the outside was very satisfying. After that, we moved to a restaurant halfway down the road for lunch, where local home-style dishes were lined up and all of them were delicious, so we were very satisfied. By the way, this restaurant is built on a hill and has a spectacular view. Afterwards, we passed through an area with a beautiful view of the rice terraces, entered a village at the foot of the mountain and rented a mountain bike to cycle. It was a wonderful time experiencing the original Vietnamese landscape that is still untainted by tourism. Finally, we stopped by a souvenir shop in the village that sells handmade products to finish the trip. It was a long journey back, but I was exhausted and fast asleep. It was a relaxing and luxurious experience that you can only get in a tourist spot that is not yet famous. I recommend it!
Just come back from an amazing tour to see the waterfalls! Couldn’t fault it! Dustin our tour guide was amazing and really knowledgeable, he took us to places away from tourist hotspots to see how local people live which was fabulous to see! He even spent the evening with us teaching us all how to drink local Vietnamese wine! Only thing to bare in mind if you are looking to book is that the overnight hotel is really basic (I mean your out in the countryside you can’t expect much!) but the bed is incredibly hard, almost like a bench and it is a long drive so be prepared for that! But overall we have really enjoyed this trip thanks to Dustin and our driver! There was nothing that was too much trouble for them and Dustin made sure we got all the photos for instagram!! Thank you to you both for a wonderful experience!
This was one of our best excursions in Asia! Pu Luong is as beautiful as Sapa, but with fewer tourists. The place is therefore ideal to enjoy the beauty of the landscapes. The day is super well organized, the departure is well communicated and the organizers are on time. The day is composed of a visit to a village in the heart of the jungle, a visit to a cave, a dinner with a perfect view of the rice fields and a walk and bike ride in the fields with a knowledgeable and very friendly guide. This day will remain engraved in our memory for a long time. If you only have one day available and really want to see the rice fields of Vietnam, don't wait!!
The trip was wonderful and a great end to my Vietnam trip. Our tour guide Dong gave us detailed information about the course of the tour and explained to us on site about relevant events, happenings and living conditions. The view of the valley was beautiful and after a simple but delicious lunch we cycled for 2.5 hours through the valley, the rice fields and various villages. It was very peaceful, interesting and wonderful. Of course you sit in the bus for a long time, but from the bus you can observe and discover so much that I really enjoyed the trip. The minibus was very comfortable and had plenty of space and legroom.
This cycling trip to Mai Chau was fantastic. Dong, our tour guide was brilliant. He kept everyone informed with what we're doing/where we're going. The trip was well paced and exploring the Valley and the local cultures was amazing. Highly recommended
