What people are saying about Madrid

Our tour was educational, and our tour guide was very experienced.

Initially I was apprehensive about our tour because the group was large and it looked like the tour was going to be given simultaneously in Spanish and English by one tour guide. However, a second guide arrived before we began, and we broke into two smaller groups - one for each language. Our group of five people was the perfect size. It made it easy to follow our guide as we moved through the exhibits. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, leading us through each exhibit in chronological order of the styles of art. She gave us a background on each style, information on each artist and his/her life, and pointed out details and symbolism in each piece. She brought along copies of related works from the Prado and other museums - a very thoughtful extra touch. My husband and I were very pleased with this tour, especially getting to see Guernica in person and exploring the museum at our leisure after the tour. Only complaint: quality of guide’s mic - audio was sometimes painfully crackly.

Excellent, knowledgable guide in Miriam.

The tour proceeded quite quickly and Miriam was very capable and took us to some of the most important works, explained them and often the political or royal story behind them, as well as the artist's connection with the subject. Most importantly, she showed us the development from the Spanish school of the 15/16th centuries, when perspective was not understood, to the Italians of the same era who had developed these techniques, exemplifying them with relevant works. I found this an important aspect of understanding painting of those times, as well as of the history then. A truly excellent guide who managed all the above, and more, under very trying conditions, with crowds of people vying to see each work and many people talking. My only issue was that the tour only lasted just over 2 hours, when 3 were promised & some time had been taken up with headset organisation, & the tapas promised turned out to be kilometers away (maybe a walk of 30-40 minutes)& we would have to go alone! Bad!

Our guide was excellent! She was kind and very articulate!

Our guide was exceptional! She provided just the right amount of information without overwhelming us with details. The meeting location was easy to find and I tour guide was easily identified near the metro stop. She took her time and did not rush us through the spaces outside we discussed or the various rooms in the palace. She spoke excellent English and provided us with a great experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Madrid!

Paola was amazing, informative and energetic

So happy we booked this tour of the Reina Sofia. Paola was such a great tour guide. She helped us understand so many of the abstract pieces and provided information that we would remember and appreciate. She was super sweet and friendly. Made the entire experience 1000 times better.

Had to wait for some people in the group to arrive

Our guide, Pablo was very informative and entertaining. We did have to wait for some people in our group who were late to arrive. The earlier tour (9:00) was a plus for beating some of the crowds as well as the heat.
