This is a comprehensive tour to the open-air museum “Shevchenkivskiy Hai” starts from your hotel, where you’ll meet your private guide. Then, you will drive to the museum, located in a picturesque area, near the High Castle Hill. Shevchenkivskiy Hai Museum gives a complete overview of the history and culture of the Western Ukraine. It territory is 9 ha, and it’s divided into 6 ethnographic zones, each of them has its own style and architecture. Walking through the narrow cozy paths, you will discover traditional Ukrainian huts, the yard and even six authentic wooden churches. Your guide will explain you the meaning of the household items you will see inside the houses. You will also see the oldest exhibit of the open-air museum – a peasant’s hut, constructed in 1749. One of the missions of the museum is to keep alive the original national folklore. The keepers of the houses willingly demonstrate such conventional crafts as blacksmithing, weaving, and bee farming. This tour gives an excellent opportunity to feel the authentic Ukrainian ambiance, reveal interesting historical facts and discover traditional architecture. After this engaging trip, the driver will take you back to your hotel.
