Tour the sites of Luxor’s west bank with an Egyptologist guide. Visit the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, and the Hatshepsut Temple. See the burial sites of important kings, and the temple to the only woman who reigned over ancient Egypt.
What to Expect
You’ll be picked up at your Luxor hotel and head off to discover the ancient treasures of the West Bank. The 5-hour tour begins in the Valley of the Kings, where your Egyptologist guide will show you the magnificent burial sites of important kings.
The most well-known tombs in the area are those of King Thutmose I, King Thutmose III, King Tutankhamun, King Ramses VI, King Merneptah, and King Amenhotep II.
From here you’ll proceed to the Valley of the Queens, which is located on the west bank of the Nile River, about a mile south-west of the Valley of the Kings. This site is also known as Biban el-Harim and Ta-Set-Neferu, meaning seat of beauty. It was built to house the tombs of the queens, princes, and princesses of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties.
Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built during the 18th dynasty (1490-1469 B.C.). The temple was built by Queen Hatshepsut, the only pharaonic woman to reign over ancient Egypt.
