What to Expect
This tour provides an overview of the most exciting parts of Venice Beach on a 2-hour behind-the-scenes guided walk, featuring a little of everything. You’ll see the Historic Canal District, stroll along Ocean Front Walk and visit world-famous Venice Beach. You’ll also see a lot of old photos and movie clips on an iPad that your guide will bring along on the tour.
Your guide for this behind-the-scenes look at Venice is Jonathan Kaplan, a tour guide for the Los Angeles Historic Theater Foundation and docent for the Los Angeles Conservancy. He is a writer for television and a 17-year resident of Venice.
You’ll be spending time with Chaplin, Morrison and Schwarzenegger as you explore this magical world of canals, roller coasters and the world-famous Venice Beach. We’ll show you the murals of modern Venice, and you’ll see the tattoo artists, street performers, weightlifters, roller bladers, lifeguards and musicians, who are all part of the local scene.
Jonathan will give you an insider’s view of Venice Beach, taking you places only the locals go and revealing history even most of the locals don’t know.
